That's the weakness of the Triangle to me. If you can crack the big-time scorer, you can sometimes get that trouble to trickle down. Worked out last night.

Not hogging the ball? He scored 12 straight points and was driving on the last play. Not a charge? Yeah he was shuffling his feet but 9 times out of 10 that goes the wrong way - consider it kharma for that call where it went off Paus knee.

Lakers are great and Kobe is incredible but the Heat (even though it took forever) sent the double teams that forced him to give it up and put the onus on someone else to win the game.

Lakers Fan here . There were some bad call on the Lakers side too (on that out of bounds call they call on Jermaine O'neal it should have been MIA ball ) but that off call on Kobe was a charge , in the replay you could see him still shuffling his feet when Kobe hits him , even the commentators pointed that out . And Kobe wasn't really hogging the ball , I wasn't satisfied of the isos in the beginning of OT but when he passed to Bynum he lost it out of bounds , and on the next play Gasol turned it over also . The reason the Lakers lost is because they were not focusing on the Dfensive end especially Kobe leaving Richardson . In a 7 Game series the Heat have no chance against LA ... No team and I say no team in the League can beat them when they are focused (even Cleveland)

Seriously, that out of bounds call leading to another terrible call on Odom's and 1 almost gave it away. But you're right, as long as the Heat have Wade they CAN beat anyone. In a seven game series? Who knows.

But how absolutely terrifically wonderful would it be if the Heat beat the Cavs (which will be a great first round matchup either way, stay in 8th!) and the Blazers beat the Lakers? And that could happen - the Blazers are far better than the Rockets team last year that almost knocked LA out in 7. They match up really well too, who's Fisher covering? He can't take Andre Miller or Brandon Roye. Batum has the length to give Kobe trouble. The series would be decided in the frontcourt: Camby and Aldridge vs. Gasol and Bynum.

Of course, the wild car remains Odom, and if he shows up on a candy high they'll probably get by. But nevertheless...

I cannot wait for the first round of the playoffs.

Time and time again it's been clear the Heat can compete with the big boys. There were some silly (aka horrible) calls by the ref in the 4th that almost blew it for the Heat - and Kobe Bryant is just ridiculous but the Heat found a way. Everyone stepped up - with QRich and Carlos having season highs in scoring.

Would of liked to see Beasley for more than 0 seconds of the 4th and OT though...

What a game. Go Heat!
