WINNER! “Miami Thrice” the selected nickname (with T-shirt)
It was an absolute nailbiter, but in voting that concluded Friday night, Miami Thrice beat out Three Kings as the winning nickname for the combination of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh by one vote, 158-157.
In total, there were 1,569 votes, which is mindblowing in and of itself. That means that commenter “Simon” is the big winner, and earns himself a free shirt. So what’s the design, you ask? It’s pretty easy to guess, no?

It’s available in black and white, and hopefully it’s everything you imagined. As always, thanks for your support and patronage. Keep your eyes open for the next Hot Hot Hoops contest!

Michael Jordan has spoken on the cowardly and femine move Lebron and in a sense D.Wade has pulled off “I Would Have Never Called Up Magic and Larry and Said Lets Play on One Team” LMFAO! Lebron has officially been shitted on by the greastest! Gotta love that comment. These cowards how officially been served! LMFAO and Wade wears Jordan’s LMFAO!

coward and femine huh? in an age where people complain that players are just in it for the money, all 3 guys said no thanks, we’d rather win. They played together for team USA and loved it so much that they exercised their contractual freedom to play in a real city. Do you really think LB didnt understand that middle age has-beens, the state of ohio, the media and 29 other executives wouldn’t slam him for his decision. He did what he wanted to do, and didnt cater to the pandering masses. That’s more of a man than you and your girlish text initialisms. And who cares what jordan says, he’s just bitter cause his bobcats are barely better than a d-league team.
btw…i don’t even like the heat.

LMFAO. You are a dumbass. He didnt serve lebron and dwade he just said he wouldnt have made that move but that times are different now. He can say that now having played on a great roster but if mj had an opportunity to jump from a terrible supporting cast to a team with bird or magic on it he probably would of. Even if he wouldnt of who the hell cares that would be his own personal prefrence, I sure as hell would have switched in that situation. Maybe in your little world that quote was mj shitting on lbj and dwade but in reality theres not that much there.

Yeah, he filed to change it last winter, and you only have to file to change your number if you’re staying on the same team. When you change teams, you can change numbers without notice.
I agree that he genuinely decided to change to #6, but Ted’s point is kind of interesting, considering the reports that these three knew they were going to play together for many months. Maybe he knew he’d be coming to Miami, knew that #23 was retired, and wanted to make it look like it was HIS choice to change numbers?

MJ stated that he would not have done it….But also stated that things are different now.

I remember not to long ago when Smush parker was the PG and Chris Mihm was the Center and Kobe had to drop 40 to 50 points a night just to have a chance at winning the game. I remember that he was crying like a little girl that he had no help and was DEMADING a trade out of Los Angeles until the Grizzlies pretty much gifted Gasol to Lakers. At least LeBron and Bosh honored their contracts and did not once complain about their situation, but I bet you don’t remember that because you are the ultimate cherry picker of facts. How about you get a life and let us Miami Heat fans talk about how we are going to run through all those pretenders in the East like the Bulls.

Can you not read? From the commenting post:
“There are people who are supportive of the Heat (who we welcome) and people who aren’t so supportive (who we welcome as well).”
I like contrarian voices. I think full-on homers who think this team is going to win 82 games and go fo-fo-fo in the playoffs need to be grounded. I don’t like bigots and people who use homosexual euphemisms as something equaling bad or stupid. And I don’t like people who use six comments on a blog post to say exactly the same thing.

Wow, Mike you are stupid. Every Dynasty in NBA history has had at least 2 All stars or 3. Some have a couple all time greats. So please take a scoop of STFU and READ your NBA history. Take note of the rosters. MJ, whom I love, is talking out of his ass. He had Pippen and either Rodman (All Time Great Rebounder) or H. Grant. Magic had Worthy and kareem, Larry played on and I quote, “….one of the greatest front courts in NBA history…” So read before you speak, you idiot.

Really Miami Mike? I will ask Barley…Maybe he can give me some advice on how to spice up my food LMAO!!! if they were going to your team you wouldn’t be hating so much. Just let it go and fade away into oblivion. I love how everyone is hating on these guys for wanting to win. They didn’t take max contracts for the sole reason of winning. Magic Johnson’s teammates included: Kareem Abdul-Jabar, James Worthy, Bob McAdoo, and Jordan had Kucoc, Pippen, John Salley, Dennis Rodman…need I say more. You cannot compare LBJs supporting cast in Cleveland to that….who? Anderson Vareajao and Mo Williams? LMAO! Get off the hateraid buddy.
By the way, they locked their contracts in for a while. Players cannot sign long term deals like they used to. MJ signed something like 10 years 25 million. So ultimately I think he’s hating on these guys because in two years they will make more than he did in 10 and they took less money. I love hearing the hate
All i remember when I hear it is 2006 Finals when the Mavericks were favored to win and what did we do? Yea, thanks.

Who cares what HIV magic johnson says or MJ that left the bulls to wizards because he was washed up, no one said anything about that. Oh, by the way everyone that is a star like you said never won it by them selves so remember that. If you are too stupid to figure that out jsut let me know hater, okay!!!

miami mike has to be a kobe fan to say the two greatest in the last 30 years. lmao. In the last thirty Years lets, there is jordan, obviously, and then there’s MAGIC JOHNSON. lets see, five time champion, 3 time finals mvp, 3 time league mvp…. kobe, one league mvp, one 2 finals mvp, so again, NEEEEEEXT. Nice try Miami Kobe, but please lets not forget, if kobe’s rape case can be forgotten with a few rings, people will forget a t.v. special with a few rings. lmao, what ignorance.
[Reply]
Of course he would have never called up Magic and Larry… they were in the league since 78 and 79 and Jordan came in 6-7 yrs after he was gonna for the guys on top being the young kid on the block. Jordan won his first championship within the time frame of Lebron’s 7 years with the Cavs… Jordan also had Scottie Pippen develop into an actual All Star… what did Lebron have? A trade for the oldest player in the league (Shaq) and a trade for Jamison who at his best in 08 and is only a 2 time All Star while Scottie Pippen what a 7 time! If Jordan doesnt win “the precious” before his contract runs out he could have easily found a new home. Oh and dont forget after they murdered his father he left to play baseball! If he doesnt do that he may have wanted a complete change and requested a trade to begin a new… so yea just as JORDAN said it… “But that’s … things are different. I can’t say that’s a bad thing. It’s an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys.”

exactly. It’s easy to say “back in the day we wouldn’t have done that” when you luck out with a team with future hall of famers in their prime as teammates (larry, magic and jorda). Kobe landed on a team with the best player in the league at the time, shaq, and people act like he did things on his own. After the fact that he was accused of rape, and then wanted out of los angeles because he wasn’t getting any help, after a few titles, people don’t talk about it anymore. If a free agent choosing a team, and doing on t.v. is the worst lebron has to worry about, I think he’ll be just fine. As much as I like and respect MJ, I think that maybe the fact that a team has a real shot at the single season games won record might be bothering him a bit.

Not only did MJ have the teammates, but he was also the freaking best player alive. Who was the second-best player during the MJ years? I seriously have no idea. But I bet that second-best guy gave thought to forming a superteam to defeat MJ. MJ is an untouchable standard, no sense comparing him and LeBron and using those comparisons to bash LeBron.

The second best player in the league at the time was arguably MJ’s teammate scottie. When MJ retired to play baseball, pippen got the all star mvp, and was a bad call away from going back to the finals again. When you have the second greatest wing player of your generation (scottie pippen) paired with the greatest of all time, and one of the best rebounders of all time in rodman thrown in the mix, it’s kind of easy to say you wouldn’t have looked for help.

First off, good point regarding the fact that Jordan had a great player along side of him and that he wasn’t in his prime at the same time as Magic & Bird. 2nd, Jordan took a great opportunity, in my opinion, to really make sure that Lebron wouldn’t be compared to him. He didn’t like it so he struck the idea down when it was most opportune too. I’m sorry but I sensed a little weeeell, I won’t say the word jealousy cuz thats not particularly true considering his career and his accomplishments, but I’ll stick with the word “dislike” for all the attention Lebron has been getting with regards to their comparisons. Jordan never had the opportunity to play with his really good friends and never in his career were contracts signed at the same exact time by 3 superstars to where they could go into free agency together. I promise you, if one of the best forwards in the league was available (not to mention Rodman by the way), the Bulls would have been on it. Pippen was a bad call from the leading the Bulls to the finals practically by himself yet Jordan had no help? I’m done with that stuff.. GO HEAT and really why all the hate comments people? We all know if you got any or even ALL 3 of these guys, your mouths would be watering, but you didn’t so get over it and please stop trying to constantly think about the different ways that this team can potentially suck because its all in your imaginations. Your teams will not win and its upsetting so you might as well accept that for at least the next 6 years, unless you are a real fan, which you’re probably not, you should go hope for your football teams…Stop looking so jealous..Not to mention Lebron and WAde, other than 05/06…NEVER had great teamates around them unlike Jordan. Kobe at one point had Karl Malone? Peyton? and Shaq? and Fisher?(who I think deserves some respect here) on one team and they didn’t try to create a superteam either?those 4 are are arguably top 25 greatest players of all time. People are just upset that it happened in Miami.

And hey Miami Tyke,
Please keep on hating kid. I LOVE IT!!!! Just like THE U in the 8O’s, you can hate all day as we put it on you.
[Reply]
Let us face facts. All of the Miami fans are happy and the Cavs fans feel betrayed. I am with the Cavs fans. I believe if winning were as important as LeGone said it was he would have taken less money and helped recruit players to Cleveland. Neither of which he did. This should show his committment to winning and his team. They are hired guns that think only of themselves.
If you look at hockey they did not allow the Kolvachuk to get by with going around the system.
The word of the day is collusion (making a secret agreement). Several years ago football owners tried this and the player’s union took them to court. If the NBA had a set they would do the same to the three mousekateers. This was planned and decided long ago. This is not to mention the interference that LeChicken did with Miller in telling him to wait.
So I say to all you Miami fans remember what they said to Ceasars in Rome. All fame is fleeting. You, and Lebron, will find out that the honeymoon is the best part of having the queen.

Bottom line, sit back and enjoy the show. I’ll send some pics from AAA
