I don't know why the major media outlets want to harp on the Penny Hardaway story when Jerry Stackhouse has said openly last week on nba.com (video called Shopping for Rings) that he would take a minimum contract to join the heat. Penny is not even an option in my opinion. He must really think that nothing can hurt the Heat's chances to win a ring...even an almost 40 year old Penny Hardaway. If we come back to reality a little bit here, adding a Jerry Stackouse to the Miami mix could be a very nice addition assuming that Matt Barnes (or similar caliber player) takes more money elsewhere.
Stackhouse is no young buck anymore either, however, he is more in shape that Hardaway will be and he was very solid coming off the bench for Dallas and Milwaukee the last two years. The Heat don't have a lot of money to offer, and he could be a solid backup to D Wade and Lebron during the short stints that they will be out of the game. And again, he's cool with the minimum.
