Tonight should be a fun night that Heat fans have been looking forward to for quite some time. For the first time since the lockout ended, the Miami Heat will take the floor at the AAA. They will play a ‘Red & Black' scrimmage game, with tickets going out only to Heat season ticket holders, though the game will be broadcast on Sun-Sports for all to see. It will be a game-like atmosphere, with Mike Biamonte calling the in-arena plays and all the usual entertainment that goes on during the season.

The game will begin at 7pm, with doors opening at 6 for fans to start filling in the general admission seats. Limited free parking will be available in the P2 garage. It will be a 48-minute game, with the first three quarters being played in NBA time before the final quarter has a rolling clock.

One member of the Heat that won't be out there is new center Eddy Curry. He is nursing a hip flexor injury and hopes to be ready to play on Saturday when the Heat hosts Orlando in their preseason opener. Curry participated in a pre-practice workout on Wednesday and then shot around afterwards. Since the first official practice of training camp on Saturday, he has only made it through one full practice, but appears to be in very good shape. He is dedicated to reviving his career after only playing in 10 games over the past three seasons.

In roster news, on Wednesday the Heat waived Cameron Jones, a guard out of Northern Arizona. That leaves the roster at 18. Miami needs to trim it down to 15 by Opening Day.
