Lebron James led the Heat with 20 points as they downed the Clippers 94-80 in the first of two games on their Chinese road trip. Dwyane Wade also returned to action with 23 minutes.

Without Chris Paul, the Los Angeles Clippers (0-2) looked lackadaisical offensively for much of the game.

With LeBron James in the lineup, the Heat led from start to finish to thwart the Clippers 94-80 and move to 1-1 in preseason play.

"It was a good continuation of our training camp," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said.

James played in 26 minutes, adding five rebounds and five assists to his box score while shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Center Chris Bosh continued his strong postseason play as well, contributing 10 points and four rebounds.

The expected efficient play of James and Bosh was not as significant as the return of Dwyane Wade, however, who had mixed results in his first action of the preseason.

In 23 minutes, Wade shot 2-of-9 for five points, but looked in rhythm on the defensive side of the floor, being his normal disruptive self en route to four steals and two blocks.

"That was about what we wanted, 20 minutes," Spoelstra said of Wade. "We didn't' need to push it any further. I was encouraged by him getting that many minutes tonight."

"[He was] Extremely active, I think we can build on this."

Ray Allen was third on the team in scoring with 15 points, mostly generated by four 3-pointers, and Norris Cole and Rodney Carney had 11 points for Miami.

Forward Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 19 points and eight rebounds.

The Heat will play the Clippers on Sunday to cap off the two-game trip to China.

"This has been a terrific experience so far," Spoelstra said. "We're we'll aware of our fanbase out here. Even with the media reception, it felt very similar to the finals."
