Heat final score: Heat defeat Rockets late, 113-110

LeBron had it going - Scott Halleran

LeBron James put in the cheat code , scoring 32 points in the second half and made a few key baskets late to help the Heat finish off a resilient Rockets team.

LeBron James has shredded a recent narrative that questioned his late game play and his ability to be a 'clutch' basketball player.

At this point, he's just trolling everyone.

James scored 32 second half points as the Heat defeated the Rockets 113-110, and delivered key baskets to get the Heat the win. No different than most of his career, but coming off a championship season, the scrutiny about his clutch play is very quiet.

Down 107-103 with 2:18 left in the game, LeBron scored the next eight Heat points, including a layup to give the Heat a 111-110 lead for good. The veteran forward got hot on the perimeter as well, hitting five-of-eight 3-pointers on the game.

He finished with 38 points, 10 rebounds and six assists on 14-of-26 shooting in 40 minutes.

The Heat also got 24 points from Chris Bosh and 19 points from Dwyane Wade. Wade scored 17 in the first half to carry Miami, who trailed by eight points in the half.

The Rockets had an efficient offensive game, and had it rolling from distance, making 12-of-34 3-pointers, continuing a trend of teams beating the Heat from the perimeter.

This time though, the Heat kept it close and made key plays to stop the daggers, as Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin airballed a 3-pointer with nine seconds left and James forced James Harden into a tough attempt that missed to finish the game.

"That's a game that went a lot of different ways," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. "They played well, they moved our defense around."

But ultimately, LeBron James was too much for the Rockets.
