Well, it looks like the NBA will indeed be doing something about the controversial move by San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to rest Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Danny Green tonight versus the Miami Heat.
The NBA just released this statement from commissioner David Stern:
"I apologize to all NBA fans. This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming."
Before the game, Popovich defended his decision...
"I've gotten letters from those people before when I've done it and I understand their perspective totally. If I was taking my 6-year old son or daughter to the game, I'd want him or her to see everybody. And if they weren't there, I'd be disappointed. So I understand that perspective. Hopefully, people in that position will understand my perspective when my priority is the basketball team and what's best for it."
Clearly, David Stern does not agree with Popovich's "perspective" on this issue.
