Final score: Heat hold off 'Cats, win sixth straight

LeBron James - Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Bobcats nearly erased a 19-point deficit, but Dwyane Wade and LeBron James made several key baskets down the stretch to come away with the victory.

A lackadaisical second half for the Miami Heat allowed the Charlotte Bobcats to cut a 19-point lead to two with seven minutes remaining in the game. To make matters worse, Chris Bosh picked up his fifth foul when the Bobcats cut the lead to two, and Ray Allen sat out with lingering soreness from his shoulder after his fourth-quarter collision withKendrick Perkins.

But then LeBron James and Dwyane Wade made three jumpers -- James' one a 3 -- to give Miami some breathing room, 92-85. Charlotte came up empty on the other end of the court, and James found an open Shane Battier in the corner to put Miami up 10 with four minutes left. Miami went on to win its sixth straight game 105-92 and move to 20-6 for the first time in franchise history.

Wade finished with 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 shooting from the foul line. The 6-foot-4 guard out of Marquette also nine rebounds and five assists. James added 27 on 9-of-19 field-goal shooting, 7-of-8 foul line shooting, 12 rebounds, eight assists four steals and two blocks. Mario Chalmers made four 3s and finished with 17 points, following up his 20-point game against the Thunder quite well.
