Heat vs Wizards: Lineup, History, and Prediction

The Heat will pay a visit to Verizon Center to take on the Wizards. Can Miami make it seven in a row? The odds are looking pretty good.

Injury Report:

For Miami, starting forward Shane Battier will miss at least one more game with a sprained right MCL. Dexter Pittman is out indefinitely with a strained quadriceps.

After missing time with a bum knee, Wizards starting forward Nene is probable for the matchup. Forward Trevor Booker and guard John Wall are out indefinitely with bad knees (Booker's right and Wall's left).

15-year veteran forward Rashard Lewis played the last two seasons (totalling 60 games) with the Wizards, averaging 9.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while playing 29.1 minutes per game.

13-year long distance threat Mike Miller spent the 2009-10 season with Washington. He averaged 10.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists through 54 contests.

Wizards center Earl Barron played his first three seasons with the Heat starting in 2005-06. He totalled 82 games, averaging 4.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists in just over a quarter per contest.

Backup Wizards guard Shaun Livingston played four games for the 2008-09 Heat, scoring nine points in 41 minutes.

Joel Anthony is holding on 1,061 career rebounds, eight behind 19th place Bimbo Coles.

Starting point guard Mario Chalmers needs 30 points to pass Sherman Douglas in 19th on the all-time list, which would give him 2545.

This has all the standard markings of a trap game. Overconfident champion? Check. Completely outmatched opponent? Check. There's a reason we call these games "traps," and taking any NBA team lightly is always a mistake. Still, I'm not willing to call this one an upset special, Miami's got too many weapons. Look for the Wizards to play up to Miami's level and cover the 11 point spread, Miami by nine.
