Joining Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh removed his name from the Olympic team to fully recover from the abdominal injury he sustained in the second round of the playoffs. The Associated Press' Tim Reynolds reported the story first.

Discussing the team during draft night, Pat Riley said that Bosh's injury was "significant." For Miami Heat fans, the news of Wade and Bosh opting out of the Olympics is great. Both Wade and Bosh suffered injuries during the playoffs, and it would not have been wise for them to add wear and tear to their bodies during the Olympics. On the other hand, this news isn't good for Team USA. Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge already had opted out of the Olympics because of their various injuries. Wade and Bosh played especially well in the 2008 Olympics, and now Team USA looks like it may have trouble going up against Pau and Marc Gasol of Spain without Bosh, Howard or Aldridge.
