Free agent forward/center Josh Harrellson tweeted Monday that he's "heading to Miami for hopefully the next nine months." That appears to signal that he signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Heat, but ESPN's Tom Haberstroh reported moments later that Harrellson will work out for the Heat -- something he already did Aug. 23 -- this week. Haberstoh said that Pat Riley did not attend Harrellson's first workout with the team.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman reported that the Miami Heat will hold pre-training camp workouts over the next two weeks for players to earn invites to join the team during training camp. Harrellson, apparently, is one of those players who will fight for a chance to make the team.

Training camp opens Sept. 29 for Miami, and the Heat still have two open roster spots. It has been widely reported that Riley is looking for a big man, but perhaps the seemingly endless teasing about whom the Heat will sign is finally coming to an end.
