As we work out way through preseason i will preview rotation on each position. I have started with the Point Guard Postion
Starter- Mario Chalmers
The 5th year guard out of Kansas has in my opinion cemented his spot of the starting team for a while now. His 2012-13 season wasn’t spectacular but he’s one of those players that just come in when you need that extra player to bob up. His 8.6 ppg game average is just the right amount that the team needs with him stepping up a few times during the season having big games including a Franchise tying record 10 threes vs Sacremento and a huge game 2 in the NBA finals. Probably the most improved part of Rio’s game last season was his assist to turnover ratio, increasing from 1.56 in 2011-12 to 2.29 in 2012-13. This is still a part of his game he needs to work on but most importantly this bloke is a big game player and one of the most underrated players in the NBA.
Backup- Norris Cole
The #30 who rocks that hightop fade is probably the most improved player from the Heat last year easily. Now truly part of the rotation for coach Eric Spoleltra he has been used to great effect as a impact player coming on in short spurts during the regular season although he did get 4 starts during the regular season. His most dramatic improvement come after the calender ticked over to 2013. Making huge gains in three point percentage during the playoffs actually having the best 3 point FG percentage (.531- 17 makes from 32 shots). Most importantly he is looking a more settled player and looks to have a but more control around the rim
