HHH GameTime Preview: Miami Heat Vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Heat visit the 76ers in Philadelphia to ruin their home opener. Is there any way for the Sixers to surprise the Heat tonight?

The Miami Heat will blow open the 76ers' doors tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. The Heat will visit again on January 17th, with a matchup at the AAA on April 16th. The Heat will finish up their short two game road trip after tonight's game with a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. The 76ers will hit the road for a matchup with the Wizards in our nation's capital, also on Friday.

These teams last met on April 6th when the 31-44 Sixers visited the 59-16 HEAT in South Beach. Here's NBA.COM's official recap.

James scored 27 points after a three-game absence caused by a strained right hamstring, five other Miami players reached double figures and the Heat moved closer to securing home-court advantage for the entire NBA playoffs by topping the Philadelphia 76ers 106-87 on Saturday night.

"He knows his body better than anybody," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "So he knew how to pace himself and put his fingerprints on the game."

Playing only 31 minutes, James made 12 of 17 shots from the field and added five assists and four rebounds. Rashard Lewis scored 14 points, Norris Cole added 13 and Chris Andersen grabbed 15 rebounds - as many as he had in any two previous games this season combined - for the Heat, whose magic number for clinching the league's best regular-season record was trimmed to two. * Full Recap * Box Score

Coach Spo addressed the media afterward:

"A lot of contributors. From that standpoint, it was a good win. Obviously, it was good to see guys who had been sitting out get their minutes. LeBron was able to play efficiently. There were no problems after this game. We'll see how he feels tomorrow."

Last night, Miami opened their title defense with a home victory over the Chicago Bulls, 107-95. LeBron James led six other teammates in double figures with 17 points and eight assists. Mario Chalmers scored 13 with five steals, Norris Cole came off the bench to score 11 with seven boards, and Shane Battier sunk all four of his three point attempts, finishing with 14. Carlos Boozer led all scorers for the Bulls with 31. * Box Score * Full Recap
