GameThread: Heat face pesky Pacers

Udonis Haslem defends David West - Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat have won five of their last six games. But the Heat will have to beat the Indiana Pacers, a team with little respect for the champions, on the road to earn their 30th win of the season.

The Miami Heat have won five of their last six games. Aside from the disjointed, double-overtime loss to a Rajon Rondo-less Boston Celtics team, Miami has recently blown out Sacramento, Golden State and Brooklyn and outplayed Toronto and the Los Angeles Lakers in close battles. The Heat will look for their 30th win of the season tonight, and it will come in a nationally-televised visit with the Indiana Pacers.

No Heat fans needs to be reminded that these two teams have a history. Players from both sides issued hard fouls during the second-round playoff series last year, and it appears each team doesn't have respect for the other. The last time Miami played Indiana was Jan. 8 in a excruciating 77-87 loss. The Pacers shot just 36 percent from the field but out-rebounded the Heat 55-36, taking 23 more shots in the game. Lance Stephenson (remember him?) also played quite well in that game. Miami should come to this game motivated, like Wednesday's game in Brooklyn.
