Dwyane Wade - USA TODAY Sports
Wade won the award for the first time this season today.
This time, LeBron James didn't overshadow Dwyane Wade.
Wade won the NBA's award for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time this season. The award is well-deserved, considering that the league's best sidekick started the week off with a 32-point, 10-rebound performance in Minnesota March 4. Wade then finished with 24 points and six rebounds in Miami's dramatic win over Orlando March 6 before scoring 23 points last night against Indiana. All in all, Wade averaged 25 points per game on 60 percent shooting from the field and 88 percent shooting from the line this week. The 10-year NBA veteran also averaged five assists, four rebounds and 3.5 steals over that stretch.
James has won the weekly award five times this season. The Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant won the award for the Western Conference.
