This time last year, Chris Bosh flew more than 3,600 miles to witness the birth of his first son and still start against the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the first round series. He scored the first point that night and in the post game Winner's Circle he and Dwyane Wade welcomed baby Jackson Bosh into the world. This year, thanks to a first round sweep of the Milwaukee Bucks, Bosh was able to spend the weekend at home in Miami to celebrate Baby Jackson's first birthday.
The theme, ironically, was Jack the Jetsetter. Baby Jackson (Jack for short) has already traveled a lot more than your average one-year-old and will surely be racking up the frequent flyer miles in the years to come. Weeks ago, Adrienne Bosh gave us a peek at the photos used in the party invitations of Baby Jack wearing an aviator's jacket and as always, the boy looked suave.
No stranger to throwing an amazing party, Mrs Bosh enlisted the help of her A-team. Jackie Ohh... Events handled event design and planning, Dollhouse Paperie provided invitations, April Belle Photos captured every special moment, Divine Delicacies made the cakes (yes, cakes) and See Ya PR even provided cute sunglasses including Adrienne's hot pink "Jack's Mommy" shades.
Party-goers tweeted that both kids and adults had an absolute blast. One of the biggest hits for both the younger and older crowd was Miami's renowned food truck, Ms Cheezious with fresh made grilled cheese sandwiches. "We had the honor of melting for the Bosh Fam today!!!" they tweeted.
But after all the delicious grilled cheese, guests had to leave room for dessert. There were cupcakes and pushcakes and cakes. Yes cakes. Jack started the celebration on Friday (his actual birthday) with his very own "smash cake." As all parents know, the best way for a one-year-old to enjoy a cake is by smashing it up. Jack's smash cake was about as tall as him! Photos streamed in on Friday of Jack in utter joy, gradually knocking the whole thing down.
Then the bakers at Divine Delicacies spent a long night preparing for the big party. From their @DDelicacies twitter account, "Long night at the bakery #JacktheJetsetter cakesss #TweetinsideDDcakes where Amazing Happens." Amazing indeed. Only the pictures can express what an astonishingly beautiful cake they made. There were adorable cupcakes and pushcakes, too.
Fans of the Miami HEAT and the Bosh's have watched Baby Jack grow throughout the past year via Adrienne's Instagram and Twitter account. They saw pregnancy pictures, Chris Bosh running out to the private jet to fly to the birth and mama holding the sweet HEAT fan, just days old, wearing a HEAT jersey to cheer on Daddy. April Belle's periodic photographs of Jack keep followers dazzled by the boy's cuteness. Their joy and love is picture perfect but it radiates from the inside outward. Fans know, "Love and light" are the best gifts they could receive for Jack from their many followers.
And Adrienne laments on twitter, "Have to get in my kisses while I still can!! Soon Baby Jack will be swatting me off. Lol." She goes on to say she has baby girl fever. Who knows what the future holds. But for this birthday, on this weekend, with Chris Bosh at home and the playoff schedule working beautifully into their family time, they are no doubt enjoying this moment. You only turn one once, but the photos, memories and love last a lifetime.
Godspeed, Baby Jack.
