Practice report: HEAT players ready for physical series against Bulls

HEAT players Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, among others, discuss the upcoming second round NBA Playoff series against the Chicago Bulls after practice wrapped up Sunday afternoon.

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah described the upcoming 2013 NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the rival Miami Heat as a "war". After the defending champs wrapped up yet another practice Sunday afternoon on the seventh day of rest since the first round, a reporter asked Chris Bosh if he agreed with what his rival had said the day before. The Heat's (arguably) most important player nodded as he listened along.

"I don't want to elaborate on his words,'' Chris Bosh responded. "But that's how it's going to be. We know they're going to bring it, and we know the passion and the play that (Noah is) going to bring and we're going to be ready for it. If a war starts on our terms, on our floor, we have to make sure we take advantage of it.''

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is getting his team prepared for the Bulls system with an understanding that both teams have a very similar philosophy when it comes to what each player is expected to bring to the table.

"That's their foundation, their bedrock of who they are. We feel that's our bedrock and our foundation of who we are as well. So we have two teams with two similar mentalities. There will be a lot of things to decide the outcomes of these games but the effort areas, the loose balls and rebounding will be major factors.

"There won't be a lot behind the curtain for either team,'' Spoelstra stressed. "We know each other. It will be a lot of those effort areas. Both teams will be very prepared, but when the ball is on the floor and the ball is up in the air, who's winning those battles?''

Check out the video for what else Spoelstra and Bosh as well as others had to say about the Bulls series.
