Heat Sign Kabongo

The 2013 NBA Draft was a very surprising one; Anthony Bennett going #1, Nerlens Noel slipping to #6, and of course the big draft day trade sending Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to Brooklyn. As much talent as their was, a few guys slipped back and went undrafted but were immediately picked up. A couple names that stood out to me were guards Myck Kabongo from Texas and Seth Curry of Duke. Kabongo was a heavily touted recruit coming out of high school. In 2 season at Texas, Kabongo played in 45 games averaging 10.8 point per. He decided to leave school early this year and enter the draft having being projected a late second round pick. After the draft, the Miami Heat quickly picked up Kabongo and he will play in the 2013 NBA Summer League for the Heat. With an elderly roster, and Mario Chalmers being the only true point guard, I wouldn't be shocked if Kabongo stays with the organization. The talent is definetly there but he will take a little work. I can see the Heat stashing Myck in the NBA D-League for a year or so before we see him as an NBA player. Seth Curry is the brother of Stephon Curry, current guard for the Golden State Warriors. I was actually surprised that Seth fell so far back and went undrafted but I think the Bobcats got a gem. With the future of Gerald Henderson in the air, I wouldn't be shocked if Seth made the team right away. Seth was a pure scorer who averaged over 17 points per game this past season at Duke, the only question being his defense. Like Kabongo the talent is there, having a brother and a father with NBA experience
