It's no surprise that LeBron James and Savannah Brinson are getting married this weekend. Their "Save the Date" cards were out in March, giving guests plenty of time to plan for the 3-day celebration in San Diego. Guests knew to call a special phone number by August 1st to get details on where and when the wedding will take place. The formal invitations simply stated:
"We're delighted to be getting married and would love for you to celebrate with us. The ceremony will take place on Saturday afternoon, the fourteenth of September two thousand and thirteen. The evening will continue with cocktails, dinner and dancing. Our fingers are crossed that you'll be able to attend.
Savannah and LeBron"
Now, details and speculation are building as the New York Post's Page 6 reports, the couple will wed at either Grand Del Mar or Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. Page 6 also reports that the wedding has been scaled down from 1000 guests to just hundreds. The traditional rehearsal dinner will be a Welcome Barbecue for all on Friday night, the wedding itself will be on Saturday and then the weekend will close with a lavish Sunday Brunch.
The event is being organized by Preston Bailey, whose client list includes Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Globally-celebrated for his unique ability to transform ordinary spaces into lush, theatrical environments, Bailey himself was married earlier this year in a King Kong-themed wedding officiated by Joan Rivers. Bailey's designs are "out of the vase" and he has done extraordinary floral sculptures of Savannah's favorite: Peacocks.
And under the heading, "good news for South Florida brides," Preston Bailey (now known as LeBron's Wedding Designer) will be speaking at the Biltmore Hotel in October during the Love & Sunshine Destination Wedding Conference and Expo. Brides should probably start lining up now.
So think about this. Wale performed at the Haslem wedding and Kendrick Lamar performed at Chris Bosh's birthday. Who do you think will perform at the King James' Royal Wedding?
And are his newly posted custom LeBron 10's his wedding shoes?
You can be sure, Hot Hot Hoops will keep you updated on all the wedding details as they start rolling in.
