Tebowing, Kaepernicking, Griffning, and Henrying move aside because LeBroning has gone viral. The "new" craze is here. Kid's have taken to Vine to create 6-7 second clips of themselves pretending to fall without being touched, using the #LeBroning.
LeBron-ing [Lah-Bron-ing] Verb.
- To pretend to be "fouled", acting as if an unsuspecting person has caused physical harm to oneself
Example: Give that guy an Oscar for 'LeBroning'
First Video: We've just heard about #LeBroning but it is said that Ronnie on Vine started the craze 230 days ago.
LeBron + Flopping = 'LeBroning'
LeBron James at 6' 8", 250 lbs is seen as one of the strongest and most athletic players in the NBA. So why is he on the deck so often? There have been several incidents where King James is seen collapsing with no contact. Hence the term LeBroning. We can say that LeBroning and Flopping are one in the same.
"I don’t need to flop. I play an aggressive game but I don’t flop. I’ve never been one of those guys. I don’t need to flop. I don’t even know how to do it. So it doesn’t mean much to me." – LeBron James
Not Flopping? #LeBroning: Here is video footage of whatever this act is called.
Unsportsmanlike? That is up for another debate. However I do feel that 'Flopping' lessens the legitimacy of the NBA and the league is trending the lines of becoming more like MLS (Not bashing the league just the diving part). When players flop it ruins the integrity of the game. So save the acting for Broadway.
Thinking Question/Closing Statement:
Yes, LBJ has been caught 'Flopping' on several occasions. He's not the only one. Why don't we call 'Flopping' Ginobiling, Gasoling or Mambaing? It's because LeBron is the highest profile player in the NBA. So we are all 'LeBroning'
