Three Stars: Heat 93, Raptors 83

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sport

Last night's heroes, by the numbers.

I used www.basketball-reference.com and their "game score" metric to check out each player's performance in last night's contest.

First Star: LeBron James

No big surprise here. The King scored a game high 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting, despite a one-for-six night from outside. He made eight assists and collected seven defensive rebounds with one steal. On the negative side, he turned the ball over six times and was called for two fouls in a team high 38:53 of time on the floor. He finished up with a gamescore of 23.5, his 30th best game of the season.

Second Star: Chris Andersen

The Birdman earned the second star of the night by going a perfect five-for-five from the floor in 25:12 off the bench. He also made each of his three free throw attempts along with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. He was called for three fouls and turned the ball over once, posting a 14.0 gamescore. It ranked as his sixth best performance of the season.

Third Star: DeMar DeRozan

DeRozan played a game high 39:17, making a Raptors-high seven assists on the night. He scored 16 points on eight-for-14 shooting. He also had two rebounds and two steals to go along with two turnovers and three personal fouls. His 13.3 gamescore ranked him just above Chris Bosh's 12.6. Out of DeRozan's 72 games this season, it was only his 42nd best.

Thanks for reading. Tune in for Miami's next matchup, their third and final game against the Milwaukee Bucks, tomorrow night at 7:30PM.
