Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday evening that the Miami Heat and Chris "Birdman" Andersen have agreed on a multi-year deal.
Chris Andersen -- the Birdman -- reaches agreement on a multi-year deal to return to the Miami Heat, league source tells Yahoo Sports.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 14, 2014
Andersen played well for much of the season last year, but picked up an injury during the Eastern Conference Finals and ended up a little broken-down by the Finals, when he was not his usual impactful self.
Still, he serves as a serviceable backup center for the Heat. It will be interesting to find out how long Andersen's contract lasts; the Heat's recent deals with Luol Deng and Mario Chalmers have been reported as two-year contracts.
