This is it! The Miami Heat are ready to get on the floor tonight

Ed. Note: Clearly, this post was meant to be posted on Wednesday, not Tuesday. You got a free day! Remember the time when basketball seemed so far, far away? The 2008-2009 season was gone too soon, and you, the Heat fanbase, were driven away, into the closet for an entire summer to wait. I know, going without hoops that long is bad, dangerous and downright torture. In short, you felt the hurt. But time waits for no one, so the offseason was your only refuge. And this offseason was more off-the-wall than any old offseason. Michael Beasley, bless his soul, got in a spot of trouble. Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley had us all on a months-long carousel. Even though we’re still asking Flash, "Will you be there next season?" the situation is far from black or white, and all we can do about Free Agency 2010 is keep the faith. My take? We can’t let him get away; money isn’t everything. You are not alone guys. After such a thriller of a turnaround that got us all to come together (and got me on this blog), I didn’t know whether to scream or cry when the ride was over. While we’ve been fretting, the team’s been working day and night getting ready to display their power. Can you feel it? The wait’s nearly over now. The break of dawn is almost here. I can’t help it; I’m pumped! It’s human nature to be excited for the start of another season. Another part of me and you are about to be ripped away from family and friends and dedicated to basketball, but that’s okay. Just leave me alone for a while to watch the action! But don’t shout; that’s just rude. So will you be there? If you’re going, maybe you’ll run into me. Hopefully, I’ll be there. No matter what you’re up to, enjoy yourself, smile and have some good times. It’s been a long time coming, and hopefully, it’ll be a victory. If you've gotten this far, and in case you haven’t noticed, there’s a unifying theme in this post that has nothing to do with basketball. If you can tell me what it is, why it’s significant this week and get closest to the number of instances of the theme appearing in the post, from beginning to end, you’ll win a $25 gift card to the Heat Team Store. Get the number on the dot, and I’ll double it. E-mail your answer to now! You have a week from today, October 27. Good luck! (Comments have been disabled, so you can’t cheat!)
