AmericanAirlines Arena to serve as collection point for Miami Heat's Haitian Earthquake emergency relief drive

MIAMI — The Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena have launched an emergency relief drive to help provide important bare essentials to victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. In response to this disaster, the HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena are encouraging South Florida residents to join in their effort to provide key resources that address the urgent and critical needs of disaster victims. From Thursday, January 14 through Monday, January 25, all concerned individuals can drop off bottled water, towels, clothing, and non-perishable canned goods at the COWs – Container on Wheels – storage containers at the AmericanAirlines Arena outside Gate 3 on N.E. 8th Street, located just outside of the Verizon Wireless Ticket Office. The drop off schedule is as follows: January 14 – January 17 - 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. January 18 – January 22 - 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. January 19 (vs. Pacers) 8:00 a.m. – End of Game January 23 (vs. Kings) 6:30 p.m. – End of Game January 25 (vs. Cavaliers) - 8:00 a.m. – End of Game On the January 19, 23, and 25 HEAT game days, donations will also be collected at the corner of Port Boulevard and Biscayne Boulevard. Each person who makes a donation at the AmericanAirlines Arena drop-off location will receive a ticket voucher good for two tickets to select HEAT home games during the month of February*. Tickets are based upon availability, and each fan will receive one ticket voucher per drop-off. The Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena join the rest of the nation in their concern and support for the survivors of the Haitian earthquake and pray that everyone will do their part to help relieve the burden of these victims. *Excluding February 9 vs. Houston
