PreHeat: Miami Heat at New Orleans Hornets

It looks like a ragtag collection of Heat players led by Chris Bosh will face off tonight at 8:00 PM in New Orleans to face the Hornets, who have had plenty of turmoil themselves after being blown out by the Orlando Magic 135-81 in their last preseason game. With Chalmers and Arroyo out, this is the perfect opportunity for Patrick Beverley to prove to the coaching staff that they need a defensive specialist to cover speedy guards like Chris Paul. Joel Anthony battling the similarly built Emeka Okafor should be interesting as well. With Bosh as the primary scoring threat if only perhaps for just the first quarter, the Heat might resemble the Toronto Raptors more than this year's championship-contending squad at full strength. The laundry list of Heat players sitting this game out are: Dwyane Wade (hamstring), LeBron James (hamstring), Eddie House (shoulder), Carlos Arroyo (groin), Jamaal Magloire (knee), Mario Chalmers (ankle) and Da'Sean Butler. David West appears to be the only Hornets player sitting out the game with a wrist injury. Starting lineups Heat: PG Patrick Beverley, SG Mike Miller, SF James Jones, PF Chris Bosh, C Joel Anthony Hornets: PG Chris Paul, SG Marco Belinelli, SF Trevor Ariza, PF Jason Smith , C Emeka Okafor
