PreHeat: Phoenix Suns (6-4) at Miami Heat (6-4)

Very quick "forgot about the dentist appointment" game notes:
  • The Phoenix Suns are topping the charts in Offensive Rating (112.0 - 2nd of 30), Points Per Game (108.2 – 3rd of 30) and Fast Break Points Per Game (17.3 – 6th of 30). Oppositely, the Heat are high on their Defensive Rating (101.0 – 4th of 30), Opponent Points Per Game (93.3 - 5th of 30), and Opponent Fast Break Points Per Game (12.1 – 7th of 30). At this point we’re all aware the Heat, as they currently stand in their synergy process, can lose to any disciplined team on any given night. Or if they decide to have the best game of their lives. Tonight’s battle versus the opposite blueprint will be attained if Miami can successfully stick to the game plan and deter the Suns biggest strengths. Like chess with a basketball.
  • To the benefit of the Heat, Robin Lopez is out with a sprained knee for at least a month. That takes a 7 footer out of the rebounding equation allowing Bosh to hopefully play vengeful of the criticism of late. Especially this comic video from the boys at TBJ. Not to fret, Suns have signed Earl Barron. Yes, the Earl Barron, star member of the 15-win Heat.
  • Elite point guards have been the Heat’s Achilles heel so far and Nash is kind of a 2-Time MVP big deal. Nash is not as aggressive as Deron or CP3 but he is as crafty as it comes. He basically invented Michael’s. Scouting report or not, this is another test on the Heat’s chemistry and teamwork to mask their weakest point.
  • The Heat are 1-4 against teams with a winning record. The Suns are coming in with an identical 6-4 record and the red Sharpie circled around today’s date. As a basketball fan, one would wish the Heat to bite on the Suns bait to speed up the pace of the game. Moderation with sprinkles of efficiency would be best served for victory.

Probable lineups:

Suns – Steve Nash, Jason Richardson, Grant Hill, Hedo Turkoglu, Channing Frye

Heat – Carlos Arroyo, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Zydrunas Iglauskas (?)

When/Where: 7:00 PM EST, American Airlines Arena. Broadcast on Sun Sports.
