ReHeat: Heat maintains focus with rout of Pistons 97-72

Quick Notes:
  • Foul trouble limited Wade to 18 minutes on the court. Wade picked up his 3rd foul by committing a charge, sending him to the bench with 9 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. He sat with 1 point and 3 fouls at the time. His return in the second half would be short lived as he picked up his 4th with 8 minutes to go in the 3rd and 8 points to his name. He finished the game with a solid 16 points.
  • Mario Chalmers continues to regain his prime form, finishing with 4 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in 24 minutes. Coach Spoelstra is looking to further incorporate the young guard into the rotation and lately Mario is proving why he merits it.
  • Teamwork is in the numbers. The improvement in sharing the rock was apparent with 23 assists to the Pistons 11. The Heat also outrebounded their opponent 45-40, won the thieving battle 10-5, and shot 51% to the Pistons’ 36%. Numbers can masquerade lies but in this occasion the mental connection was clear.
  • The 25 point win marks the highest so far this season.
  • With the wins come the laughs. LeBron, on Wade coming around in the second half: "I'm starting to figure out what D-Wade is doing. He doesn't like the first half."
  • Of course, the fierce Joel Anthoy dunk attempt:

We love you, Joel M.D.
