Mario Chalmers was present at Sunday's Miami Heat Family Festival after an MRI revealed only a sprained right knee, a relief for a team desperate to get fully healthy in time for the playoffs with Udonis Haslem nearing his return. Heat officials at the event confirmed to me that he should be out an estimated two weeks, a period of around six games (the Heat have just twelve games left in the regular season).
A day after being lifted off the court immediately after suffering the injury against the Denver Nuggets, Chalmers was walking around with a bit of a limp with his knee wrapped up but otherwise looked fine.
With Carlos Arroyo cut to open up a roster spot for Mike Bibby, the Heat's newest player is now the only true point guard on the roster and is largely expected to take over the starting job.
