The Miami Heat players found themselves in an uneasy situation against the Denver Nuggets. Miami had the ball down two with 14 seconds left. After Erik Spoelstra called a timeout, LeBron James drove on Kenneth Faried and found an open Ray Allen in the corner. Allen made the shot despite Corey Brewer crashing into him and completed the four-point play to give Miami a 119-116 lead. Danilo Gallinari missed a deep 3, and Miami escaped with the victory to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Allen had an amazing game, knocking down six 3s in 29 minutes of playing time. But Chris Bosh carried Miami for portions of the game, scoring 40 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 shooting from the line. Bosh’s full repertoire was on display tonight, knocking down jumpers and using his patented pump fake to get to the basket. He kept Miami in the game during a particularly horrid first-half defensive effort.
