Dwyane Wade suspended one game for kicking Ramon Sessions

Wade to sit out the Miami Heat's next game versus the Detroit Pistons for the incident in the fourth quarter of the victory against the Charlotte Bobcats.

While there were no actions taken by the referees when it happened last night, the kick delivered by Dwyane Wade to the groin of Ramon Sessions now represents a severe blow to his team.

The NBA announced on Thursday evening that Wade must serve a one game suspension without pay and sit out the Heat's next road game against the Detroit Pistons, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

The offending kick was delivered with 8:12 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Miami Heat's road victory against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, December 16. Sessions was in fact called for a foul during the play, not Wade.

The NBA deemed Wade worthy of the suspension "for flailing his leg and making contact with the groin" of the unlucky Bobcats guard.

UPDATE: Here's Wade's response on Twitter as well as the video of the incident below...

I'm far from being a dirty player + my intent was never 2 kick Ramon Sessions. I just reacted to the contact that I got from him....

More than anything, I think of my boys watchin me be4 retaliating 2ward any player. Im moving 4ward + ready 2 get back on the court in MIL.
