Jones and Chalmers Finish 3rd and 4th in Three-Point Contest

This years Foot Locker Three-Point contest, featuring James Jones, Mario Chalmers, Anthony Morrow, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love and Ryan Anderson, came down to the wire.

Last years champion James Jones started the night on fire, draining 22 three-pointers for the highest score in the 1st round.

Kevin Durant came out poised, posting 20 in the 1st round which qualified him for the final.

Mario Chalmers, who came into the competition with the highest 3-point percentage among the contestants, posted 18 in the 1st round.

Kevin Love also posted 18 in the 1st round subsequently forcing a tie breaker with Chalmers. The two squared off in a tie- breaker and Love squeaked by Rio 5-4 to advance to the final round.

The final consisted of Jones, Durant and Love and served up to be a battle. Jones got cold, going for only 12 in the final round but Durant and Love tied at 16, forcing an intense tie-breaker. Love would outlast Durant 17 to 14 to be crowned champion.

The Miami Heat were the only team with multiple participants in the three point contest. With Noris Cole leading Team Shaq in the Rookie/Sophomore game and Jones and Chalmers finishing 3rd and 4th respectively, Miami certainly showcased their depth and perimeter firepower this weekend.
