LeBron James was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time this season. It's an honor that belongs to LeBron more than any player in NBA history. Last year, James won the award 6 times in route to his 4th MVP.
Last week, LeBron led the Heat to three victories and averaged 34 points along the way. He shot a blistering 70% from the field including 62.5% from three. James had a season best 39 points in a win against Dallas. LeBron is shooting 62% for the season.
James has had to lead the Heat for the last several games without his full help. Games have been missed by Ray Allen, Udonis Haslem, and Mario Chalmers. Dwyane Wade has struggled out of the gate much this season.
Paul George and Michael Carter-Williams have taken home the honor the previous two weeks. Blake Griffin won the award for the Western Conference for the past week.
