In other action, two Eastern Conference underachievers faced off in Brooklyn where the Nets opened up the action against the Chicago Bulls at noon. Chicago won the matchup easily behind a 20 point, eight rebound performance by Taj Gibson. They also saw double digit games from Jimmy Butler (15), Carlos Boozer (14), Mike Dunleavy (13), DJ Augustin (13), and Joakim Noah (10). The Nets were led by 18 points from Deron Williams.

At 2:30 PM ET, the equally disappointing New York Knicks hosted the Western Conference powerhouse Oklahoma City Thunder with a questionable Carmelo Anthony and crew. The Thunder leads 87-67 after three quarters behind 29 points from Kevin Durant, 24 points from Serge Ibaka, and a 14 point, 13 rebound effort for Russell Westbrook.

After Miami's visit to the Staples Center, the San Antonio Spurs will play less than gracious hosts to the visiting in-state contending Houston Rockets at 8 PM ET.

Closing it out tonight at 10:30 PM ET, the Los Angeles Clippers drive up the street to play the Golden State Warriors in their home.

Despite the Eastern Conference losing a lot of its luster here in the early going, there's a lot to look out for if you're a die-hard sports fan. Let's talk!
