NBA veteran Juwan Howard gets another 10-day contract from the Miami Heat

Marc Serota

The Miami Heat announced today that they have re-signed NBA veteran Juwan Howard to his second 10-day contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The open roster spot was made available last month when Dexter Pittman was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Howard has not appeared in any Heat games since he was originally signed on March 2, but has been visible on the bench in some dapper suits cheering on his teammates.

The 40-year old forward has appeared in 85 games with the Heat over the last two seasons averaging 2.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 9.2 minutes while shooting 40 percent from the field. Additionally, he appeared in 11 postseason games during Miami's 2012 NBA Championship run, totaling 17 points, 10 rebounds and an assist in 60 minutes of action while shooting 4-of-9 from the field.
