Preview: Heat look to finish 66-16; I predicted 68-14.

New, comments

Miami will host the Orlando Magic tonight and with a win, will head into the playoffs with a handy eight game winning streak and having ridiculously won 37 of their last 39 games.

USA TODAY Sports

At the start of the season I think we all knew that Miami was notches above the rest of the competion in the eastern conference. The issue for most was health, but with great chemistry, excellent coaching and the sturdy shoulders of LeBron, the Miami Heat are one game from finishing the season as the clear favorite.

I tweeted this before the season started and some laughed at my lofty projection. If the Heat win tonight, which they will, their record will be 66-16. That's two games off from what I predicted, but more importantly, it highlights just how consistent they've been all season.

With LeBron's MVP award already in the bag and Erik Spoelstra candidacy for coach of the year looming, this historic season for the Miami Heat is now coming to an end.
