Miami Dade police have officially responded to the now infamous Instagram video clip an appreciative LeBron James posted on Friday in which he's being escorted by the police to Sun Life Stadium for the Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake concert.
An investigation has been launched into the identity of the police officer that was driving on the wrong side of the road to make a clear path for the MVP to get to the show. They plan on speaking to the off-duty policemen that were at the stadium over who authorized the police escort, which violated department policy as described in this official statement (via the Miami Herald).
"It has been brought to our attention that a video was posted on the Internet by LeBron James, a professional basketball player, where it shows him being escorted onto the property of Sun Life Stadium for a concert on Friday, August 16, 2013.
"Upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that Miami-Dade Police did facilitated Mr. James from one intersection to another in the adjacent area of the stadium. his was not a scheduled escort and although all safety precautions were taken, the department has identified these actions as violated department policies."
