The Miami Heat knew they had to trim their roster to 15 players by October 29, but they got started early today by waiving center Chris Johnson and guard Reggie Williams.
Of the two, Reggie Williams seemed more likely to make the roster, as he was battling Shannon Brown and Tyler Johnson for the backup minutes behind Dwyane Wade. Now, the Heat roster stands at 18.
The players still fighting for the roster spots: Shannon Brown, Tyler Johnson, Andre Dawkins, Shawn Jones, and Khem Birch.
The Heat play the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
