HEAT Week gets fans ready for the regular season

The Miami Heat sent out a press release early Friday providing details about "Heat Week," a nine-day period of community events and preseason games that are leading up to the start of the regular season on October 29.

Here's a list of some of the things that will happening from October 20 - 29:

October 20 - HEAT McDonald's Takeover (12 - 2 p.m.)
The McDonald's restaurant located at 5650 NW 7th St. in Miami will be HEAT Central for the lunch crowd. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will serve product, entertain and interact with customers, as well as give away HEAT Nation gear.

October 21 - Houston Rockets vs. Miami HEAT (8 p.m.)
The HEAT hosts the Houston Rockets at 8:00 p.m. for the final home preseason game at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Watch the game on TNT or listen to the game in English on FM 104.3 The Ticket and on the HEAT Radio Network as well as in Spanish on Radio Mambí 710 AM.

October 22 - HEAT Papa John's Takeover (6 - 8 p.m.)
HEAT up your Wednesday night with Papa John's! Order a Papa John's pizza and it could be delivered to you by the HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team! Fans that order Papa John's pizza will also have the chance to receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming HEAT home game.

October 23 - Mountain Dew Ride Around (12 - 2 p.m.)
Mountain Dew, along with The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will make surprise stops at select locations in the Miami area equipped with FREE HEAT Nation giveaways and Mountain Dew products. Follow @MiamiHEAT to learn when the HEAT will be in your area.

October 24 - HEAT Happy Hour Presented By Miller Lite (6 - 7 p.m.)
HEAT fans can start their weekend early by joining the HEAT Experience for HEAT Happy Hour presented by Miller Lite and hosted at The Clevelander. The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will be hosting the festivities. Fans can enjoy Miller Lite specials and the Miller Lite Girls will be distributing Miller Lite promotional items. The Clevelander is located at 1020 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.

October 24 - HEAT @ Memphis Grizzlies (8 p.m.)
The HEAT travels to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies at 8:00 p.m. in the final preseason match up before the regular season begins. Watch the game on Sun Sports or listen to the game in English on FM 104.3 The Ticket and on the HEAT Radio Network.

October 25 - HEAT Digital Download Day
Be the first to download the latest HEAT graphics on your phone, tablet or desktop. The HEAT will debut their new graphic look for the 2014-15 season on HEAT.com with new wallpapers, photos, and more.

October 26 - HEAT Twitter Challenge (Presented by adidas)
TwHEAT fans, take heed: follow @MiamiHEAT throughout the day as every hour on the hour beginning at noon and finishing at midnight, Twitter followers will have the opportunity to win a player jersey presented by adidas.

October 27 - HEAT Car Decal Event Presented by MetroSigns (6 - 10 a.m.)
On Monday, October 27, HEAT fans are encouraged to stop by the AmericanAirlines Arena during their morning commute and have a FREE HEAT window decal placed on their cars by the pros of MetroSigns (while supplies last). The HEAT Dancers, Burnie, the Xtreme Team and Banana Man will be distributing free HEAT gear and Kickstart by Mountain Dew as they help HEAT fans get their rides ready for the 2014-15 season. The team's flagship radio station, FM 104.3 The Ticket, will also be broadcasting live from the event.

October 28 - Café Bustelo Coffee Hour (8 - 10 a.m.)
The HEAT Dancers, Burnie and the Xtreme Team will reward Florida Blue staffers with HEAT Nation gear and coffee presented by Café Bustelo. This is a private event.

October 28 - "HEAT Nation" Short Film Release (8 p.m.)
The world premiere of "HEAT Nation"--a short film that acknowledges and embraces the Miami HEAT fan base, players and organization and recognizes them collectively as a Nation...a People, united under one flag-will debut online on HEAT.com at 8:00 p.m.

October 29 - Opening Night 2014: Washington Wizards vs. Miami HEAT (7:30 p.m.)
All of HEAT Nation will come together as the Miami HEAT embarks on its 27th season by taking on the Washington Wizards during the Home Opener on October 29th. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. The HEAT will distribute 20,000 HEAT Nation t-shirts presented by Sun Sports as well as 20,000 HEAT Nation flags presented by Miccosukee Resort & Gaming. The night will be highlighted by the world premiere of the player introduction sequence and more. Tickets are still available for purchase on HEAT.com.
