Heat recall Napier and Whiteside to team

The Heat recall Napier and Whiteside from the D League. They will both immediately join the team.

Remember the Eminem song that started with "Guess who's back...back again?" Well start humming that throughout this entire story because Shabazz Napier and Hassan Whiteside are back!!

The Miami Heat announced earlier today that both have been recalled from their NBA Development league team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. In one game with the Skyforce, Napier had 22 points, three assists and one steal. The fact that Napier played in only one game made this demotion feel like a complete accident to begin with. The rookie has played in 23 games so far this season with the Heat, averaging 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Whiteside also appeared in only one game with the Skyforce and had 21 points and 12 rebounds while blocking four shots. The Heat are starving for an inside presence with Chris Bosh indefinitely out due to a calf strain and Josh McRoberts lost for possibly the season with a right lateral meniscus tear. Hopefully Whiteside can become the answer.

Both Napier and Whiteside helped the Skyforce with a 124-105 victory against Whitesides former D League team, the Iowa Energy and both will be available tomorrow night when the Heat travel to Brooklyn.

Heat rookie Andre Dawkins will continue his assignment with the Skyforce for the time being.
