On Friday, Chris Bosh practiced with the Miami Heat with the intention to play in Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Bosh didn't play in the game, but he is close to his return.
During the game on Saturday, in which the Heat lost 103-95, SunSports commentator Tony Fiorentino said that Bosh is close to his return. The 6'11 center has missed the last eight games for the Heat due to a calf injury. Bosh has said the injury is something that developed over time and that there wasn't a timetable for his return. He made it clear he wouldn't risk the chance of the injury getting worse.
The Heat have already been under the injury woe as forward Josh McRoberts is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery last week. The Heat were granted the $2.65 DPE to replace McRoberts, but they have yet to use it. Dwyane Wade missed several games earlier this season as well.
The Heat are trying to get better, and they have. But they won't be any real threat until Wade and Bosh are both on the floor together. That could happen Monday, in the Heat's last game of the seven game home stand when they host the Orlando Magic.
Bosh hasn't played since December 12 in a win in Utah. The Heat are 3-5 with him since his injury.
