Andre Dawkins wasn't seeing much playing time with the Miami Heat. But now that the team is heading out for a 5-game road trip that will have very limited practice time, they have decided to assign Dawkins to the D-League.
The Sioux Falls Skyforce will host Dawkins during this time, which can be as long as the Heat choose, and will allow Dawkins to get some playing time while the Heat are away. Dawkins will join previous Heat players Tyler Johnson, Larry Drew II and Khem Birch who are all currently on the roster.

Dawkins has played in three games for the Heat, but has only totaled 3 points this season. He isn't expected to be a rotation player for the Heat. But Miami really likes his ability to stretch the floor.
