The Miami Heat announced Tuesday that once again Shabazz Napier has been assigned to to their NBA Developmental League Affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
In 25 games with the Heat, Napier has averaged 5.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists while playing 21 minutes a game.
His most effective performances came during the last weeks of November and since then the rookie hasn't found his way back into the rotation consistently.
He was previously assigned to the Skyforce back for a game on December 13th where he had 22 points in a 124-105 victory over Hassan Whiteside's old team, the Iowa Energy.
Usually when teams go on long road trips, the younger players who often struggle for minutes get demoted but outside of Dwyane Wade, the guard rotation for the Miami Heat has been terrible. You would think Napier would get more playing but unfortunately that isn't the case.
Miami is in need of the youth and talent Napier brings, so here's to hoping Shabazz is back soon and playing better than ever.
