Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James? Not so fast

New, comments

Rumor got out on Friday that Warner Bros. was planning on making a sequel to the 1996 film Space Jam, which starred Michael Jordan, but this time around, it was rumored to star LeBron James. Will a Space Jam 2 with LeBron James ever happen?

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

For years the rumor of a Space Jam 2 have been on and off, and every time it gets mentioned, LeBron James always entertains the idea of starring in the film.

Well, for a few hours on Friday, it felt like a sure thing that a sequel to the 1996 Space Jam film was going to happen, with LeBron James starring in it.

But, the fun didn't last long, as LeBron James' representatives say he is not attached to the possible film as of now, and Warner Brothers say they have no plans to make the sequel official anytime soon.

Sigh, I was excited for a Space Jam 2: LeBron James, and I'm sure almost all of you were too.

LeBron has already said before he would love to be in the movie, but would how good would the movie actually be? Will it live up to the hype that it would get?

Ehh....I am not sure it would.

LeBron's critics will find a way to criticize LeBron in the movie, "he should've passed to Bug Bunny more...or he didn't dunk on the monsters enough, he didn't take control of the game."

Even if the movie doesn't live up to the hype, it will make a lot of money, which at the end of the day, is almost all that matters to companies nowadays.

Personally, I would love to see a Space Jam 2, and I was disappointed when I heard the report was false. If the process of planning a possible sequel goes on for a few more years, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin Durant in it instead of LeBron James.

Want to see a Space Jam sequel with LeBron? I know I do, let your voice be heard in the comment section below, and tell us why or why not you want to see a sequel to Space Jam.
