The NBA announced today that it has fined Miami Heat starting point guard Mario Chalmers $5,000 for a flopping incident involving Blake Griffin.
The incident occurred with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter of Miami's 116-112 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Staples Center.
Video of the play can be viewed here.
The first violation merits a warning with fines increasing for each flop that is caught by the NBA. A third violation is a $10,000 fine, a fourth is $15,000 and a fifth time doubles that to $30,000 and a possible suspension.
