HHH Preview: Miami Heat Vs. New York Knicks

The Heat hit the homestretch in their quest for Eastern Conference regular season dominance with a marquee matchup against the Knicks at the AA Arena.

Today at 1PM, the Heat will welcome the Knicks to the friendly confines of AmericanAirlines Arena. It's the fourth and final regular season matchup between the two old foes. Miami's playing in the fourth game of a five game homestand. They started it out by defeating the Toronto Raptors 93-83 on Monday and a 96-77 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. They suffered a 122-121 double overtime loss to the Minnesota TimberWolves on Friday night. They'll close out by hosting the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The Knicks just closed out a two game homestand, beating the Nets 110-81 on Wednesday and losing to the Washington Wizards 90-89 on Friday. This is the first game of a two game road trip. They'll play the Raptors in Toronto on Friday.

The last time Miami faced the Knicks was on February 27th, when the Heat defeated New York 108-82. LeBron James scored 31 points on 13-of-19 shooting with four rebounds and four assists. Dwyane Wade pitched in with 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Mario Chalmers, Ray Allen, and Norris Cole scored 11 points each. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra talked about James' "superhero" mask after the game:

I like the look of it. It looked kind of menacing. As long as he was aggressive, that was the big key.

Miami's last matchup was a 122-121 double overtime loss to the visiting TimberWolves. James scored 34 points with eight rebounds, five helpers, and four steals. It was a weird, strange game. We had chance after chance. It just seems like this is how the season is going.
