Heat go from 4-1 odds to win 2015 NBA title to 50-1 without LeBron

Cavs replace Heat as the 4-1 favorite to win it all.

With the far-reaching effects of the loss of small forward LeBron James, the Miami Heat's chances of winning a third NBA title in four seasons are understandably not looking so good right now, for obvious reasons.

Bovada (, Twitter: @BovadaLV) certainly have lost hope on the Heat's chances, flipping their 4-1 odds to the Cleveland Cavaliers and pushing the Heat all the way down to 50-1, along with the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans. That's below teams like Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and the Toronto Raptors.

"There is no question that with the recent news of LeBron going back home to Cleveland that they are the favorites to win the NBA Championship next season at 4-1," says Kevin Bradley, Sportsbook Manager. "With the Eastern Conference being much weaker and essentially only a handful of teams that can give LeBron and the Cavs a run for their money, it would be a shock if they do not at least make the Conference Finals.

"This shows how much of an impact a player like LeBron has on odds. The last comparable situation was when Peyton Manning signing with the Broncos dropped them from 75-1 to 10-1 in a blink of an eye."

Just a month ago the Heat's dreams of a Three-Peat were still alive and while the loss of James no longer makes them the favorites in the East, Pat Riley is aggressively in pursuit of reinforcements that will surely give the oddsmakers a second look at the team by the time training camp rolls around.
