In a series of tweets Thursday evening, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski gave the strongest signal yet that LeBron James will explore his options in free agency.

Another team official who met with James' agent, Rich Paul, in Cleveland tells Yahoo: "I think it's all a smoke screen."

Heat fans who became nervous when Kyle Lowry agreed to a four-year contract with the Toronto Raptors can't be happy with this news. It's hard for anyone to make sense of these tweets, saying that there's been a breakdown in communication among LeBron James and Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, yet Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley are still confident. James may take meetings with other teams, but one official who met with James' agent characterized them as "a smoke screen."
This Twitter "news breaking" is simply the speculation we all have to endure before we get the clarity of agreed deals and signed contracts in just a few days. Remember this ESPN story published July 3, 2010? It talked about Wade joining Bosh and James in Chicago. The story even says, "The source said Wade is unsure how the Heat, who currently have just two players under contract, will be able to build a championship contender around him given salary-cap constraints."
Bottom line: yes, we'll hear about all these stories for now. But we just have to be patient until the real news comes down. Enjoy your long weekends.
