Miami Heat free agent Michael Beasley reportedly worked out for the L.A. Lakers on Wednesday.

The Miami Heat have had discussions with Michael Beasley about returning to the team that drafted in 2008, but nothing has resulted in a contract offer. The Heat only have a minumum contract left to give, are certainly aren't guaranteeing any playing time.

Thus, reports are out that on Wednesday Michael Beasley worked out for the L.A. Lakers, and the work out went well.

The Lakers already have a complicated front court. They recently acquired Carlos Boozer off the amnesty wire, they've also have Jordan Hill, Ed Davis, Ryan Kelly and their rookie lottery pick, Julius Randle.

Teams were impressed with Beasley's role last season, and his career high field goal percentage. I wouldn't be surprised to see Beasley go somewhere where he thinks he will get some playing time. He's only 25 years old and has a world of talent.

Maybe the Lakers would plan to use him at the small forward position, where they currently have Nick Young, Xavier Henry and Wesley Johnson. Either way, it seems a weird fit, but who knows what the Lakers are trying do here.

Fans have been hopeful that Beasley would return and bring some much needed scoring the a Heat bench that would feature Norris Cole, Udonis Haslem, Danny Granger and Chris Andersen. Beasley's best moments came when he was a scoring punch off the bench for the Heat, but he routinely found himself out of the rotation due to his defensive lapses.
