The Miami Heat organization and its players took to Twitter to send their best wishes to Paul George of the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana Pacers star Paul George suffered a serious leg injury while playing in an intrasquad scrimmage for USA Basketball at UNLV Friday night.

While going up to contest a James Harden fast break, George landed awkwardly against the basket stanchion and suffered an open tibia-fibula fracture, according to an ESPN report this morning.

Teammates and fans in the crowd reacted immediately, with visible disbelief on many of their faces.

George underwent successful surgery last night and is expected to be hospitalized for at least three days, and will likely miss all of next season.

Shortly after George was carted off the court on a stretcher, the Miami Heat and some of its players took to Twitter to send their best wishes to George.

George also took to Twitter to thank everyone for the well wishes, promising to come back even "better than ever."

George and his Indiana Pacers squad have been a bitter rival of the Miami Heat for the past three seasons.

Considered to be the Heat's biggest challenge to returning to the NBA Finals in a weakened Eastern Conference last season, the Pacers raced out into first place and despite some late season struggles finished the regular season right where they wanted to; in first place with a shot at the Heat with homecourt advantage in the playoffs. They eventually faltered to Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals for a second consecutive year.

The Heat and its fans have grown to despise the Pacers and its players during each of their playoff series matchups. There certainly has been no love lost between the two cities and their players.

However, no one wants to see any player no matter how bitter a rival suffer an injury like George did last night. As a fan of the game, you want all of the superstars the league has to offer. As a fan of your team, you want them to play against the best-of-the-best with an opportunity to beat them.

Hot Hot Hoops would like to wish you a speedy recovery, Paul George!

Feel free to send your well wishes to Paul in the comments below. We're sure the folks at Indy Cornrows and their fans would appreciate it.
