The same outlet that reported Tyler Johnson's deal with the Miami Heat before it was official, @ShamsCharania of RealGM.com, has reported that the Heat will sign Shawn Jones to a non-guaranteed training camp deal.
Shawn Jones of Middle Tennessee State will sign a non-guaranteed camp deal with the Heat, source tells RealGM. Jones played for LAC in July.

Jones is a 6'7 forward from Middle Tenessee State University, and he went undrafted in June. He averaged 14.1 PPG and 8.4 RPG as a senior. He also played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the Las Vegas Summer League. He's originally from Bronx, NY.
Jones was the CUSA Player of the Year where he played power forward. He's more likely to play small forward in the NBA. The signing seems odd since the Heat are already crowded with Luol Deng, Danny Granger, and Shawne Williams in the front court.
Jones will be one of many players going to training camp with the Heat without a guaranteed contract. Terms of Tyler Johnson's contract haven't been reported, but the Heat have at least 13 players with guaranteed deals including Justin Hamilton who's is partially guaranteed.
There will be somewhere around 6-7 players battling for 1-2 spots when training camp hits next month.
